Now, maybe Mario Williams will prove to be everything the Texans are dreaming he'll be and more, but I really, really have to question that pick. You pass on a once in a decade talent at running back, the closest thing to a "can't miss" the draft has seen in years, and you take Mario Williams. Maybe the logic is that Domanick Davis is good enough, and they need the defensive talent. I understand the logic in drafting to fill holes, but there's also a lot to be said for drafting the best player available, particularly when that player is Reggie Bush.
Now, on top of that, Domanick Davis is placed on injured reserve, ending his 2006 season, and leaving the Texans with Vernard Morency and Wali Lundy at running back.
I'd like to hear from some Texans fans on this. What's the word down there? I have to think the fans are all outraged. |
