To be fair, if we're going to do the best baseball movie ever, we have to take a look at the flip side.
Tough call. These are all real movies. It's safe to say they were all pretty bad. Pretty strong showing of Disney and Disney-type movies in this list. |

I don't recognize several of those. What was Ed, Mr. Baseball, and Mr. 3000?
Major League 2 was pretty bad. They replaced Weslie Snipes, who was Willie Mays Hayes, with another actor who looked nothing like him and tried to tell us it was still Willie Mays Hayes. That never works. I never saw the 3rd one. Wasn't that straight to video? |

Mr. 3000 starred Bernie Mack as a retired guy who had 3000 hits in his career. Years after he retired, the league took away a couple of his hits for whatever reason, so he came out of retirement in his late 40s to get back to 3000 hits.
...he was still younger than than active major leaguer Julio Franco!
Mr. Baseball starred Tom Seleck as a washed up slugger who goes to japan to play, and has a hard time with the culture.
Ed, though... now that one is something special! I am sorry to say I never saw this movie, it is on my to-do list. It stars Joey from Friends, and a baseball playing monkey!
Yes, you heard me right. A monkey, and Joey from Friends. That alone, even without seeing the movie, gets it on the list of worst baseball movies ever! |

| I'm disappointed that only 2 of the choices involve animals. Animals playing baseball (or any sport for that matter) is just a recipe for a terrible movie. |
