Did you all see Roy Williams in Detroit’s loss to the Bears last Sunday? Losing 10-0, he celebrated… a catch. When asked about it after the game, he said "I celebrate first downs all the time. I'm not gonna stop that. I'm an exciting player. If I do something exciting, I'm gonna show my actions." When informed that they were losing 10-0 at the time, he added "What does that mean? ... That means nothing to me. The score means nothing,"
Very nice! You’ve gotta’ love to see that kind of commitment to winning from your marquee players.
On top of it, despite the fact that they were crushed by the Bears 34-7, Williams said he didn’t regret guaranteeing a victory against them, and he guaranteed a victory in their next game!
Hey, I guess if you just guarantee a victory every game, you’re bound to be right sooner or later.
Personally, I hope the Detroit Lions continue to draft such fine, upstanding citizens and role models at wide receiver. |
