Thought of the Week: Signs Fantasy Baseball Is Not Your Thing

We've all played with dudes who just aren't as into fantasy baseball as the rest of us. Maybe they're not sure if this is really the hobby for them. So, I've put together a list of signs they can use to determine whether or not they belong in fantasy land. Perhaps you can forward the URL to the applicable guy(s) in your league in hopes of bringing the poor souls some clarity.

You frequently learn that someone sent you a trade proposal after the offer has expired.

You traded Johan Santana for Chris Shelton in April.

When you hear the acronym “OBP,” you think “Yeah, you know me!”

You wish that everyone would stop being so damn competitive.

You don’t know what Brandon Funston looks like.

When the hometown team is on, you check all fantasy concerns at the door.

You drafted Mark Prior, Rich Harden, and Kerry Wood...and thought your pitching staff was ''killer.''

You've ever uttered the words ''I don't want to rip you off'' and actually meant it.

You have fewer transactions than wins.

When you hear the word ''Kazmir,'' you lament the fabulous sweater that got ruined in your dryer.

You can name 10 things better than MLB Extra Innings.

The first web site you check everyday is cnn.com.

You're happy to let the computer pick your team.

You would never risk your job to research the minor league stats of John Maine and Luke Scott.

You don’t mind the All-Star break so much.

When someone attacks you on the league message board, you do like mom said and ignore it. “Sticks and stones” you tell yourself, “sticks and stones.”

You don’t react to the phrase “closer by committee” as if you just noticed a slug in your spinach.

You’re not reading this.

That's just outstanding! It's kind of scarey when something that is intended to be a joke hits this close to home...
