This is the first week of Conference matchups, things start to get interesting now. Ok first up...

Northwestern vs Nevada - Nevada I believe Nevada will win this one at home. Nevada has played tougher opponents (ASU, Fresno State, Colorado State) than Nortwestern (Miami OH, New Hampshire IAA, Eastern Michigan). Norhwestern's passing game is anemic and their run game is just above average against very weak opponents. A heavy hearted team loses out west.

Wisconsin vs Michigan - Michigan

Iowa vs Illinois - Iowa

Minnesota vs Purdue - Purdue

Connecticut vs Indiana - Connecticut

Penn St vs Ohio St - Ohio St

Notre Dame vs Michigan St - Michigan St

So far every week there is one game that keeps me from being perfect. Damn you Michigan State! Thats what you get putting it on autopilot! Now your team psyche is ruined for the rest of the year. I am looking forward to watching MSU-PU game. I think PU takes this one. Call me crazy but for all you doubters out there look out for a continually improving Purdue squad.

Quit you're bragging and start using the point spread! Make it challenging, for christ's sakes!
I hope you're right about the MSU game, but I just don't see it happening. MSU proved they could put up some serious points. Purdue can move the ball and can score against anybody, but all an opponent with a great offense needs is to just slow down the Purdue offense a little. Painter is still young. He's still prone to mistakes. I see MSU scoring at will against our secondary. Notre Dame to, although I hope I am wrong. Next season is the year we will compete. The offense only loses, what? Two linemen? Our QB, RBs, and WRs are all VERY talented, and will only be a year smarter, faster, and better. Lymon, Orton, Bryant, and Keller? That's the best receiving tandem we've ever had. No. Next season is the year we'll compete for a BCS Bowl. This year, I'll take 8 wins and a nice Bowl game. Alamo Bowl, Sun Bowl, Motor City Bowl... just get to one and I'll be happy.

I like to think I'm not a doubter, just a realist who's catiously optimistic.
