Purdue to the Champs Sports Bowl!

For those of you who don't live and die by the internet like I do Purdue has accepted a bid to the Champs Sports bowl. We will play the 4th ranked ACC team. Right now espn is predicting either BC or Maryland as our opponent. MSN is predicting Maryland. USAtoday is predicting Maryland and SI is predicting Wake Forest. We will not officially find out who we are playing until after Dec. 2 when the ACC championship is played. Personally, I am hoping for Maryland. I think we match up better against them. The ACC has a log jam at the top, there are 4 teams with a 9-2 record. GT has a 7-1 conference record so they are clearly number 1 in their conference. Then you have a three way conference tie; BC, Wake Forest and VT. With Maryland having a 5-2 conference record and 8-3 overall. They all sound ugly but for some reason I would rather have Maryland or BC. I don't know how their bowl tie-ins work but if they are anything like the Big Ten's then with all of these teams have identical records it comes down to bowl selection order. Which is probably why most people are saying we will play Maryland.
