I don’t know how many of you listen to Bob and Tom in the mornings, but Jeff Saturday is the Tuesday guest during the regular season. He comes on around 10 AM, so I believe it’s just a local Indy based broadcast at that point. I think all of their nationwide stuff stops at 10.
Anyway, one of the DJs, Jimmy “Mad Dog” Madis, was telling a story about watching the Colts/Ravens game Saturday. He had a wedding reception at the same time as the game he had to be at. Well, in order to not miss the game, they checked with the bride to make sure it was okay, then brought in a TV and ran rabbit ears at the reception. The bride gave the okay, provided it was turned off during all of the important wedding type stuff – speeches, daughter father dance, that sort of thing. Mad Dog knows the DJ, so he talked to him, who then scheduled all of that for halftime.
Brilliant! They were able to watch the entire game and still not offend the bride at her reception. My favorite quote from Mad Dog – “I was expecting the bride to throw the bouquet through a Big O’ tire and win $500!”
I think we all have a story or two along those lines. I'd love to hear yours. |
