I have read and heard that Tiller and Spack played a vanilla game especially on defense so they could evaluate alot of the players. They used the evaluation to determine individually what each player needed work on and move people around on the depth chart.

I know there are alot of you out there that are concerned about our boilers and how many points and yardage they gave up to ISU. Initially I had my concerns too. But after reviewing the game again I feel better about the outcome. Two scores were on blocking issues in the punting game. Another score came at the very end of the game against our 2-3s on the depth chart. Not to bad for a defense that wasn't scheming and running many blitzes.

Reading between the lines after listening to the Joe Tiller show I think we will see more schemes and blitzing packages in the game against Miami. I don't think anyone should rush to conclusions until after the Minnesota game. By then we should have a better judge of this team. But I do think as the season wears on this sophmore heavy team will get better. This new group of coaches is demanding output and execution from their players.

I hope you're right, but I don't think there's any good way to spin giving up 35 to Indiana State, even if it was the 2nd and 3rd string and special teams giving it up. We can't count on 60 points a game once we get into the Big Ten season.

...well, except against Illinois and IU, anyway.

Not thru my glasses! I think we will score even more points when the big ten schedule starts. We are gonna hang 60 on Wisconsin, 70 on Penn State and 80 Iowa! They're all a bunch of pansies. Don't make me sick the Jumbo heroes on you!
