So here's the situation. No one watches the Pro Bowl. Why? Because the Super Bowl is over. No one cares about anything after that. The Pro Bowl is totally anti-climactic.
I think the Pro Bowl should be moved to the middle of the season! What do you think? Would this work? Would the players take the risk? I think if they would, it would be a nice break from their regular games, have some fun, people would watch it to speculate for future games, they could still play "lightly" so as to not get hurt... I just think it would be way better.
I really wanted to see LT in the Super Bowl this year and then I didn't even get to see him in the Pro Bowl either! He's one of my favorite players ever. I'm sick of people saying he's a wimp or a baby! LT I will defend you til the bitter end!!
I actually found these great videos about LT on YouTube with awesome clips of games as well as interviews with him, his teammates, etc. It's amazing how someone with his ability can still remain humble. Or seemingly humble, haha... If you like LT check it out:

A lot of people say changing the Pro Bowl time wouldn't work for football because of the constant fear of injury. But how else could we make this exhibition game actually popular? Or is it just not worth the risk to the players to have any sort of exhibition game? |

I agree that it's anti-climactic. I did watch some of it, just because it's football, and it's the last football we'll see for awhile.
I don't think you could ever move it to the middle of the season. Fear of injury is huge. There is just no way any head coach would allow his players to play in an exhibition game in the middle of the season that could potential injure them and hurt their team's chances. I think it would also kill some of the momentum of the regular season. I like seeing teams go on hot streaks.
I don't have a good solution. You can't have it before or during the season since football is such an injury-prone sport. You can't have it after the season is over and expect there to be legitimate interest from the fans. You could have it the week before the Super Bowl, but then none of the players from the 2 Super Bowl teams would play, and what fun is that?
I think they'll have to settle to either keep it as it is, or, just name the team so players will still have the honor of being names an All-Pro, but don't actually play the game. |
