Ok lets do this.

Cincinnati vs Ohio St - Ohio St

Michigan St vs Pittsburgh - One of the more interesting matchups in the big ten this weekend. Michigan St

Syracuse vs Illinois - Freakin crap shoot. Oh lets say Illinois since they have home field advantage.

Iowa St vs Iowa - Iowa I am picking Iowa in this one because Drew Tate is expected to start. He clearly is the spark in that offense, if you don't believe take note of last week's game.

Ball St vs Purdue - Purdue A special request goes out the boilers, please keep the spread below 16.

Eastern Michigan vs Northwestern - Northwestern This might be a mistake after last week. But I think they will come out focused this week after being humiliated and to play for coach Walk.

Temple vs Minnesota - Minnesota

Michigan vs Notre Dame - Michigan This is the year Michigan gets it done at ND. The new D coordinator will have them playing inspired football. Michigan can also run decently. Here's to hoping their quarterback doesn't screw it up.

Youngstown St vs Penn St - Penn St

San Diego St vs Wisconsin - Wisconsin

Southern Illinois vs Indiana - Indiana

Shit, I have no idea where to find the spreads at. Maybe you can point me in the right direction.

USA Today does a nice job with these. I usually look at sportsbook. They're the biggest.

Adds a completely new element to it. Makes it trickier. Doing well with my picks this weekend by the way! I hit a four team parlay!

Thanks cubfan, I will try to take a look at them this week. I don't know if I will call the spread for this week's prediction.

I went 9-2 in week 3. Figures, the two toilet bowl teams (Illinois & Indiana) knocked me out of perfection.

Oops! I can't go to sportsbook at work. The proxy filter pops up restricting access. USAtoday's odd's page looked weird. I read their instructions but still don't understand what they were showing.

No, but I bet you can go to USAToday. Try it again.
Let's go through this:

Your teams are on the left. The bottom team is your home team.

Look under the sportsbook column, and All the others. There are only two rows of information here. The top row is the over/under. You could, if you were a gambling man, but on whether you thought the total points combined for the two teams would be either over or under that total.
The bottom row is the point spread. If it is a negative number, that team is favored to win, and you have to subtract that number of points from their score at the end of the game. By beating on this team, you are saying they will win by more than that number of points.
If it is a positive number, that team is the underdog. You add that number to their total at the end of the game. If you bet on this team, you are saying that they might lose, but they'll lose by less than that number. Of course, if they just win the game outright, then you don't even have to worry about it.

The other number? You'll see things like -110 after most of these things. That really isn't important, and you can ignore it for now. Basically, it's saying you would have to bet (if you were betting of course, which we're not. It's all for entertainment purposes only) $110 in order to win $100.

I hope that helps! Now let's see some point spreads on those college games!!!

Ok I understand everything you said except I think you left one piece of crucial information out. When I am looking on the USAtoday website, and looking at the point spread line which team is the spread for? The website doesn't tell me and you forgot to mention it. Is it the home team or the away team. The spread line is lined up with the home team so is this the team the spread is for? That's gotta be it. Cause I see the spread is -3 for Minnesota at Purdue this weekend and I remember somebody at work saying Minnesota was favored by three.

By "who it's for" I assume you mean who is favored? The spread isn't really "for" anyone. It's just... the spread.

I did mention it actually. Who is favored is determined by whether it there is a minus sign. If there is, the team it is lined up after (the home team in the case of USA Today) is favored, and they are losing points. Subtract that number of points from their score at the end of the game. If the is NO minus sign, they are the underdogs, and you add that many points to their score at the end.

Now, get out there and pick those point spreads!!!

...for entertainment purposes only, of course.
