Well, the Purdue game was closer than I thought it would be. Purdue was hosed on three calls costing them one score at least (Orton pushed out of the endzone on fourth down. How is that not called?), so I see it as a one score game. Granted, had it been within 7, Notre Dame might have been airing the ball out more in the second half, and god knows the Purdue secondary isn't stopping anyone. Still, there was a lot to like about Purdue's performance, particularly on the offensive side of the ball. Painter is still young, but getting better all the time. He's only a sophomore. Great arm, very intelligent. We only lose a couple of linemen next year on the offensive side. Our running backs, wide receivers, quarters back, tight ends will all be a year more experienced and better. Right now, as we saw against Notre Dame, our receivers are still prone to the occassional drop. We even had a very rare Dorien Bryant drop in the fourth quarter. That will only get better though. The tandum of the tight end Dustin Keller, and the three wide receivers Greg Orton, Dorien Bryant, and Selwyn Lymon is already the we've ever had at Purdue.

Selwyn Lymon is just plain awesome. The Notre Dame game was definitely his coming out party. The guy has great hands, is lightning fast, is a nice big target at 6'4, and is only a sophomore. He and Dorien Bryant both require double coverage, so someone is going to be open. The future looks bright. Hell, the present isn't so bad. I think we'll get 8 wins this year and go to a nice bowl game.

Oh, and in case you didn't hear, Selwyn Lymon had 2 touchdowns and an insane [/b]238 yards receiving on Saturday. The 238 yards receiving was the most by a receiver EVER in one game versus Notre Dame.
